W. Beck and Associates has completed for the <br />Urban Drainage and Flood Control District a report entitled "Major <br />Drainageway Planning, South Boulder Creek, Volumes I and II, City <br />of Boulder and Boulder County, Colorado," dated December 1973; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report outlines and describes the flood <br />water runoff channel for an intermediate regional flood (lOO-year <br />flood) on South Boulder Creek in more detail than the U. S. Corps <br />of Engineers report, Flood Plain Information, Boulder Creek and <br />South Boulder Creek, Volume II, Boulder Metropolitan Region, Colo- <br />rado, dated August 1969, which was designated and approved as the <br />flood hazard areas by resolution of the board on the 1st day of <br />April 1970; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article 149-1-11(4), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1963, requires that the Colorado Water Conservation Board designate <br />and approve storm or flood water runoff channels and to make such <br />designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Article 139-60-1, Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1963, provides that such cities, towns, incorporated areas and <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for any storm <br />or flood water runoff channel only after designation and approval <br />by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District <br />has requested the~_Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve the flood hazard areas as set forth in the Major <br />Drainage Planning, South Boulder Creek, Volumes I and II; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the board has reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that said board designate and approve as flood hazard areas those <br />areas set forth in the report as being subject to flooding by an <br />intermediate regional flood under existing conditions. <br />
