In the Denver Development Office, the Upper
South Platte Basin area, the Bureau of Reclama-
tion commenced reconnaissance surveys of the
South Platte Basin above Narrows on the 1st of
July. This was initiated with money furnished
by the State of Colorado, carried over from fiscal
1963. As you know, the principal features under
study are Two Forks Reservoir, storage space be-
low the Two Forks Reservoir and appraisal of
potential water developments of the related area.

We have geologic data for five axes for the
Two Forks Dam site and this has been reviewed,
some additional geologic studies made and a
summary report prepared.

We have held one meeting with representatives
of Aurora and Denver and meetings with other muni-
cipalities are believed to be necessary to become
fully acquainted with their water needs and plans.
We hope that your Board will make recommendations
for some type of committee to work with us on
this study as we certainly could use that kind of
help and knowledge.

Our work on the Narrows Unit has progressed
with basic data collection and extensions of water
supply and water requirement studies for the
period 1931 to 61. Our earlier site selection
studies were based upon the short period from
1952 to 57 and we feel it desirable to redo our
hydrology on a longer period.

Upon your request we have made studies of the
Riverside and North Sterling Pump Units and the
results of the best alternate for Riverside and
North Sterling Pump Units will be presented to
the South platte River Steering Committee on
September 13th, their next meeting.

We have also conducted Senator Allott over
the Weld County site, together with local people,
the 1st of August. This completes the Senator's
inspection of the two sites. He reviewed the
Narrows site at an earlier visit.

He plan to start accumulating data for econo-
