Our field personnel met with personnel from
our Salt Lake City office and Fish and wildlife
Service to establish.a minimum operating pool for
Ruedi Reservoir. Agreement was reached that this
minimum pool elevation should be at 7590 feet.
This will result in a minimum surface area of
approximately 200 acres for fishery and recrea-
tion purposes.

I

Our field personnel met with representatives
of Bechtel Corporation, representing Homestake
interests, and agreed to make a fully integrated
operational study with Homestake water. Routing
will be via the Fryingpan-Arkansas system on the
eastern slope - to below Twin Lakes and then
over Trout Creek Pass. We expect to complete
this study in October.

We are advancing our work on repayment con-
tract with the Southeastern Colorado Water Con-
servancy District and hope to begin negotiations
with the District in October this year on the
details of this contract.

We are gathering information on conditions
in the Arkansas Valley insofar as drouth and
reclamation are concerned during the 1963 crop
year. We hope to document this information to
be incorporated in project records for future use.

In the activities of our Kansas River Basin
Office, I would like to report that representa-
tives of that office and our Chief Engineer's
office conducted a field inspection of the Wray
Dam and Reservoir site to review the previous
explorations. The damsite and local construction
materials were inspected and a drilling program
for exploration of the borrow areas was scheduled
and access easements acquired so that the work
could be computed.

I

Representatives of the Colorado Game and
Fish Commission, National Park Service, and the
Bureau of Reclamation conducted the annual in-
spection of the recreational areas at the Bonny
Reservoir on June 20. No recent planning activi-
ties have taken place on the St. Francis Unit.
