The <br />report of the Omaha Office is in your foloers as <br />Agenoa Item '~2f. I'll just call your attention <br />to the first item. You remember we asked Mr. <br />Slizeski in June what the effect of the Cherry <br />Creek Reservoir was on flood protection in the <br />Denver area and I notice that for the August 3rd <br />storm he estimates it prevented approximately <br />$186,000 worth of damage in Denver and on the <br />South Platte below Denver. <br /> <br />Unless there are any specific questions the <br />Director might be able to amplify, I think the <br />report of Mr. Slizeski's office is self-explana- <br />tory. <br /> <br />We'll now turn to Item 'ff3 on the Agenda, 'Re- <br />quest of the City of Fort Collins for Diversion <br />through the Colorado-Big Thompson Project Facili- <br />ties'. The Board may recall that this question <br />was on the agenda at our June meeting in Craig <br />and the Secretary-Manager of the Northern Colo- <br />rado Water Conservancy District said that this <br />matter would be taken up with his board at their <br />next meeting and this Board asked the staff to <br />make recommendations to it at our meeting today. <br />Hith that backJround, Larry, will you continue <br />this item?" <br /> <br />"Gentlemen, a comprehensive memorandum was <br />sent out to you under date of August 22nd on this <br />particular problem. You will recall that the <br />City of Fort Collins made a request to the Bureau <br />of Reclamation and to the Northern Colorado Water <br />Conservancy District for the transportation of a <br />small amount of water presently decreed above <br />Grand Lake for irrigation use. <br /> <br />We examined the problem and concluded that it <br />is not a matter over which this Board has any <br />
