Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District. Mr.
Redmond. ..

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, I am
fortunate in being able to be here today. It
wasn't planned until the last moment but I enjoy
coming to these Board meetings. They are very
interesting programs and problems. We must ,.,ork
closely with you and I appreciate the opportunity
to be here with you.

Our progress in water resources development
is about essentially the same as we reported some-
time, I believe, in May. We haven't attended a
meeting since that time. However, I assure you
that we have been actively engaged in this work
of water resources development in the State of
Colorado.

Briefly, at some risk of repetition, our
activities in the Albuquerque District during the
past four months have consisted of continuation
of preconstruction planning of the Trinidad Res-
ervoir Project and investigations and studies of
the water resources development and problems on
the Arkansas River and its tributaries in Colo-
rado.

with respect to the Trinidad Reservoir
project we have concentrated our efforts on the
preparation of plans and specifications for the
outlet works of the Trinidad Reservoir Project.
Now these plans and specifications are at present
in the hands of higher authority for review and
approval. upon approval we expect, if everything
goes as planned, to place this project at Trini-
dad under construction early in fiscal year 1~65.
This, of course, assumes that funds will be made
available by the present Congress for initiation
of construction. I do not have anything further
to report on the Trinidad Project. I believe Mr.
Dugan covered the review and the coordination in
