. WHEREAS, the united States Army Corps of Engineers,
.Omaha District, completed in. October, 1968, a Flood Plain Informa-
tion Report entitled "Flood Plain Information, Volume IV, Denver
Metropolitan Region, Colorado," which includes McIntyre Gulch;. and

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested
by the Denver Regional Council. of Governments by resolution adopted
May 7, 1969, approved and designated the floodplains described in
said report; and

WHEREAS, a new floodplain information report entitled
"Flood Hazard Area Delineat.ion, McIntyre Gulch, city of Lakewood,
Colorado," dated October, 1977, has been prepared by Hydro-Triad,
Ltd., at the request of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
and the city of Lakewood, which report updates and revises the pre-
vious information for McIntyre Gulch as prepared by the Corps of
Engineers; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate
and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid
report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of
local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on
or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board;
and
