<br />181 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Following brief review of the minutes of the Board mee,j;ing of December 16- <br />17, 1949, there were no corrections or additions offered, and Governor Johnson <br />ordered the minutes stand approved.as presented. <br /> <br />Copies of the report of the Policy and Review Committee, on the proposed <br />Frying Pan-Arkansas Project, were distributed to Board members. On suggestion of <br />the Director, consideration of the report was laid over to the afternoon session to <br />afford Board members additional time to become familiar with the text of the re- <br />port, and to prepare questions they might wish answered. <br /> <br />The Director's report, in mimeographed copies, was taken up for con.sidera- <br />tion, with the Director explaining and cOlllJllenting upon the various topics con- <br />tained in the Table of Contents, as follows: <br /> <br />1. Board Finances <br /> <br />Appendix <br />Ilirector's .Memorandum on Narrows Reservoir <br /> <br />The Director reported that Federal appropriations for ~olorado water de- <br />velopment projects for fiscal 1951 (July 1, 1950 to June 30, 1951) which have <br />been approved, or expected to be approved, by the present session of the .Con- <br />gress will approximate $25,808,600. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Referring to surveys and appropriations, the Director said that Congress <br />had not decided the amount to be available for general investigations, but that the <br />reclamation West was anxious to secure as large a fund as possible for such pur- <br />poses. He said the Bureau of Reclamation had proposed that $12,000,000 should be <br />provided. <br /> <br />The Director stated that the Region 4 report on the Colorado River Storage <br />Project plan, incorporating suggested preliminary views made by the various Upper <br />Basin States, was being revised in the Salt Lake City office, but that the report <br />
