Abriendo, Suite B <br />Denver, CO 80203 Pueblo, CO 81004 <br />(303) 866-3441 (719) 542-3368 <br /> <br />Las Animas County is located in the Arkansas River Basin and is affected by the Arkausas River Compact, the <br />pending U.S, Forest Service Federal Reserved Water Rights Claims for Water Division 2, and by the operations of <br />the Trinidad Reservoir Project. The county will be affected by the outcome of the Kansas vs Colorado Compact <br />litigation. <br /> <br />In this county there are two loans from the CWCB Construction Fund which have been completed for a total of <br />$665,000. <br /> <br />Water Project Construction Loan Program - Completed Projects by CWCB through FY 1999 <br />Project Name Amount Loaned <br />Trinidad Water Supply System $ 465,000 <br />Starkville Water Supply System 200,000 <br /> <br />This county has also participated with the Office of Water Conservation in creating a water conservation plan, <br /> <br />lnstream Flow Water Rights appropriated exclusively in this county total seven miles and 13 stream segments, <br /> <br />Note: In reference to lnstream Flow Water Rights, information listed above may not be inclusive of all water rights <br />in a given county since a stream segment may start in one county and end in another. <br /> <br />This county has six Designated Floodplain Studies affecting 23 stream reaches, In regard to Flood Mitigation: one <br />study has been requested, They also participate in the National Flood Insurance Program, The county received a <br />Presidential Disaster Declaration in 1999, and was eligible for Public Assistance grants from FEMA, <br /> <br />16 <br />
