This caunty has 13 Designated Flaadplain Studies affecting 62 stream reaches, They alsa participate in the Natianal
Flood Insurance Program. The county has spent its own money developing topographic mapping specifically for
FEMA ta use far flaadplain mapping, There are two new Flood Insurance Studies on the Eagle and Roaring Fark
Rivers, A Flood insurance restudy is being done in Vail.

Elbert County is lacated in the South Platre Basin and is affected by the South Platte River Compact, U,S, Forest
Service Federal Reserve Water Right Claims in Water Division I (denied). The caunty is cavered by the Recavery
Implementation Program far Endangered Fish Species in the Platte River Basin, There are twa Designated
Groundwater Basins: Kiawa-Bijau and Upper Big Sandy, The endangered Prebles Meadaw Jumping Mouse is alsa
a concern.

In this caunty there is .one laan from the CWCB Construction Fund in the amaunt .of $90,000,

The Office .of Water Canservatian has planned ta assist the caunty with creating their water canservatian and
draught plans,

This caunty has five Designated Flaadplain Studies affecting II stream reaches, The caunty received a Presidential
Disaster Declaratian in 1999 far severe flaading damage, Federal grants were provided far Public Assistance only.
The county does nat participate in the HFIP, Develapment pressure has been very high, with record numbers .of
building permit applicatians aver the past few years.

In this caunty there are twa laans fram the CWCB Canstructian Fund. Twa were campleted in the amount .of
$1,294,000 and one is under design for $250,000,
