<br />~e relocation of the various transmis- <br />sion and telephone lines in Ruedi, Turquoise, <br />and Pueblo Reservoirs is in progress. Work <br />is nearing cOmpletion on some of these relo- <br />cations. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation representatives <br />on the Fryingpan-Arkansas Operating Com- <br />mission (project managers at Grand Junc- <br />tion and Pueblo, ColoradO) attended a meet- <br />ing of that commission in the offices of the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board on October <br />24, 1968. Discussions were held Qoncerning <br />status of construction on the Fryingpan- <br />Arkansas project, proposed Busk-Ivanhoe <br />carriage of water contract, and studies to <br />determine replacement capacity required at <br />Ruedi Reservoir and the remaining capacity <br />available for future development on the <br />western slope. <br /> <br />The field draft of the Upper Atkahsas <br />River Basin report was completed and sub- <br />mitted to our regional offices for review. <br />The completed report is expected to be for- <br />warded to the Commissioner of Reclamation <br />early next calendar year. <br /> <br />On the Narrows Unit, Congressman <br />Aspinall announced locally that a subcommit- <br />tee of the Interior and Insular Affairs <br />Committee will hold field hearings at Fort <br />Morgan, Co1crado, on NOvember 25th. <br /> <br />Representatives of the Bureau of <br />Reclamation participated in discussions <br />with representatives of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board staff, Federal Water <br />Pollution Control Administration, Geological <br />Survey, Soil Conservation Service and <br />COlorado State University regarding the <br />possibility of establishing a demonstration <br />project in the Narrows Unit area.
