Part III has been <br />deferred. The Monte Vista report also will be completed this <br />fiscal year. <br /> <br />MR. ANDERSON: <br /> <br />"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, I <br />have both the Small Watershed Program and <br />the River Basin Survey reports here. Mr. <br />Carson, who would normally give the Small <br />Watershed report had a conflict and was <br />unable to attend. If there are any questions <br />with regard to the Small Watershed program <br />I'll attempt to answer them, but I'm not as <br />familiar with the details of that as Mr. <br />Carson would be. <br /> <br />The following report of the current <br />status of Public Law 566 activities (Small <br />Watershed Program) in Colorado is provided <br />for your Board meeting today. <br /> <br />Under planning, Canon Watershed, this <br />project involves the construction of three <br />floodwater retarding dams and channel work <br />to protect areas in Canon City, the Town <br />of East Canon and associated farming lands. <br />Agricultural Committees of the House and <br />Senate have approved the work plan. No <br />construction funds will be available until <br />the Budget Bureau stop order is lifted for <br />initiation of new projects. <br /> <br />Running Creek Watershed. This watershed <br />is located near Elizabeth, Colorado. Studies <br />are being made in cooperation with the State <br />Fish, Wildlife and Parks Division to deter- <br />mine feasibility of a multipurpose structure <br />for flood prevention, fish and wildlife, and <br /> <br />I <br />
