<br />V~-' <br /> <br />Preauthorization Planninq - Arkansas River above John Martin Dam <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The report presenting the results of a review survey of the flood <br />and water-related problems in the Arkansas River subbasin above <br />John Martin Dam was completed and submitted by the Albuquerque <br />District to higher authority in June 1968. The Southwestern <br />Division, corps of Engineers, Dallas, Texas, issued a Notice of <br />Report on October 17, 1968, and has forwarded the report to the <br />Board of Engineers for Rivers and Harbors and to the Office, <br />Chief of Engineers, for further processing and submittal to <br />Congress. <br /> <br />Preauthorization Planninq - Arkansas River below John Martin Dam <br /> <br />Investigations and studies for flood control and related purposes <br />are being continued in the Arkansas River subbasin from John <br />Martin Dam to Great Bend, Kansas. When the feasibility of pre- <br />liminary plans of improvement has been determined, they will be <br />p~esented to local interests and interested agencies for comment <br />and suggestions. <br /> <br />Preauthorization Planninq - Rio Grande and Tributaries in Colorado <br /> <br />Funds to initiate this authorized study were not provided by the <br />Congress, in Fiscal Year 1969. Until such time as the needed <br />funds are appropriated, the work on the investigation cannot <br />proceed. <br /> <br />Flood Plain Manaqement Proqram in Colorado <br /> <br />Flood plain management activities authorized by the 1960 Flood <br />Control Act" as amended by the 1966 Flood Control Act, have been <br />continued. Approved applications for flood plain information <br />reports have been assigned the following, priorities by the <br />State of Colorado: <br /> <br /> Priority 1: Part I, Pueblo Fountain Creek in Pueblo county <br />I Priority 2: Part II, Pueb.lo, Goodnight Arroyo, Wildhorse <br /> and Dry Creeks <br />Priori:ty 3: Rio Grande at:, Monte vista <br /> Priority 4: Part III, Pueblo, St. Charles River <br />
