Feasibility investigations on the Basalt
Project are continuing and we are scheduled
to have the feasibility report completed in
FY 1971.

Feasibility investigations have now been I
initiated on the Lower Yampa, or Juniper,
Project plan. Initially studies will be made
of the mineral, land and water resources
along the Yampa River and its tributaries to
determine water development needs. Recently
the Colorado River Water Conservation District
and the Great Northern Water conservancy
District notified us that they would have
funds available sometime after January, 1969,
to transfer to the Bureau to assist in these
feasibility investigations during 1969.

Data are being collected and assembled
for salinity control studies. Preparation
of a reconnaissance report will be completed
this fiscal year. This study is being made
in cooperation with the Federal Water Pollu-
tion Control Administration.

preconstruction activities on the Fruit-
land Mesa Project are progressing satisfac-
torily. A draft of the repayment contract
has been approved for negotiations with the
Fruitland Mesa Water conservancy District.
These negotiations are under way. Other
preconstruction activities in progress con-
sist of collection of data for specification
designs and estimates for Gould Canal struc-
tures and Fruitland Mesa Canal Diversion Dam
and studies pertaining to new farm units.

Advance planning activities on the
Savery-Pot HOOK Project are well advanced
or completed in various areas of study such
as plan formulation, land classification and
drainage investigations, geologic studies,
and field surveys. The definite plan report
is scheduled to be completed in the fall of
1970.

I
