Approximate:!;}' six weeks ago when it was
found definitely that the0940,OOO acre-feet reservoir was not a
feasible project in view of the present rules and regulations of
the Bureau of the Budget, there was some feeling on the part of
certain individuals in Western Colorado that Gunnison would with-
draw its opposition to the 2,500,000 acre-feet dam. As a result a
series of meetings were held in the various areas in Gunnison
County. I think there were about 12 to 15 meetings. It was foUnd
that the people in'the Gunnison River Valley are still opposed to
the large Curecanti Dam, and as I understand, 'they have sent a
resolution voicing their objection to Dean Crawford. I want the record
to show that they are opposed to the large dam. 01 don't think any
action is necessary."

The following letter and resolution vms received in the office of
the Colorado Water Conserration Board May 5, 1954:

I

"Gunnison, ColoradO
May 4, 1954

Ivan C.
