"This is a thing I think we may do."

"I try to watch, and I know the members of
this Board have, the travel expenses and I've
never found them excessive or unreasonable or
merely junkets for any purpose. The Board has
met in nearly every area of this state at least
twice and sometimes three times a year, outside
of Denver, and I think it's been of great value
to the Board and to the people we meet with in
trying to work out their common problems. I
think this is a first order of business with us
for the next session to see if we can't explain
our position a little better. I can understand
the problems the Budget Committee has but I just
don't feel they realized our situation. I think
we should try and recoup that in future years.

Mr. Sparks, you'll be back with us after
the 1st of July will you?"

"Maybe you can help us in this regard. That
is a very serious item and I regret very much
that it was done but that's why we'll have one
of our meetings, the next one, which we will
consider right after this, out in the Craig-Vernal,
utah area of Flaming Gorge, because that is in
our budget for this pr~sent year and I think this
is important to the Board. We will see just what
happens during the next year."

having trouble finding this, it's under Agenda
Item #6 on page 3.

Under our second major heading 'Interstate
Compacts', we requested $49,545, received
$49,545. There was no cut on the request for
Interstate Compacts.
