<br />.,).,)::1::1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />'Geology and Ground-Water Resources in <br />Eastern Cheyenne and Kiowa Counties, colorado' <br />has been OK'd for release to the open file. <br />This report will be published as a Survey Water- <br />Supply Paper. The corrections to the manuscript <br />should be completed by May 15th. <br /> <br />'Potential Ground-water Development in the <br />Northern Part of the Colorado High Plains' was <br />approved to release on the open file on April 2 <br />and will be published here in Denver by the GPO <br />as Colorado Ground-Water Circular 8. The publi- <br />cation should be released sometime the middle of <br />next month. <br /> <br />'Public Water-Supply Problems and Possibili- <br />ties for Artificial Recharge in Colorado' has <br />been approved for release to the open file. It <br />is planned for publication as a Circular by the <br />C.S.U. and will be published as soon as the <br />funds are available for publication. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />During the last session of the Legislature <br />the State Department of Health had requested a <br />cooperative program with our Quality of Water <br />Branch in collecting information on water quality <br />in the state. The proposal which they asked us <br />to make was primarily for the South Platte and <br />the Arkansas Basins as a starter with the expec- <br />tation that in future years it would be expanded <br />to cover the whole state. The program that was <br />worked out on a cooperative basis was our typical <br />50-50 proposition whereby the state would put up <br />half the money and the federal government half. <br />Unfortunately the State Legislature didn't see <br />fit to appropriate money for new starts on things <br />of this nature so that program fell through for <br />this year. However, as I understand it, the <br />State Department of Health does expect to request <br />funds in subsequent fiscal years. <br /> <br />A new gaging station was established on <br />the Gunnison River immediately below Blue Mesa <br />Dam at the request of Region 4 of the Bureau of <br />Reclamation who will pay the cost of the installa- <br />tion and operation.
