contains about 170,000 acre-feet of water at a
depth of about 240 feet and is about 30 feet
from the minimum power pool level. \o1hen we
reach this power pool there will be 270,000 acre-
feet in the reservoir and it would retain an
elevation of 5,871 feet. ~tudies are under way I
to consider the desirability of minimizing power
releases for the first generator. We think this
would give us greater flexibility in our opera-
tions at a later date when the two remaining
generators are installed.

Also at this reservoir - it is going to
prove to be a very fine recreation site. people
are already visiting this area, particularly as
far as boating is concerned. The old aggregate
haul road is being converted to a temporary boat
ramp. Both the National Park Service and the
U. S. Forest Service are providing numerous
recreational facilities. Permanent boat ramps
are under construction and other recreation areas
are under way. It is anticipated that stor-
age will accumulate there to about 600,000 acre-
feet. The water held there, possibly for recrea-
tional purposes, may later be released to assist
in maintaining or securing a power head at Lake
Powell.

Construction at Curecanti is about on
schedule. The current work includes concrete
placement in the spillway flip bucket structure
and excavation in the outlet works tunnel. Now
all the tunnel lining work must be completed I
prior to diversion of the river and it is antici-
pated that this might not be accomplished until
later this summer;

Again on the Curecanti Project, bids were
opened on April 30th for the construction of
Morrow Point Dam and Powerplant. The apparent
low bidder on this job submitted a bid of
