"This budget scared me. Here we are plan-
ning, and have been planning I realize for a
long time, a meeting and a tour outside of the
State of Colorado. This sounds like it's going
to be the last tour we are going to be able to
make. I believe that we ought to cancel this
meeting. "

"I raise the question of whether it's
economy or false economy. I've always thought
these meetings over in Craig, and Lord knows I
could stay in Denver all the rest of my life and
probably be reasonably well satisfied and I think
all of us would in our own communities, but I
think the people out where we have these meet-
ings appreciate them. I think we get a better
idea of the problems involved in the Upper Colo-
rado by going to Flaming Gorge and I would deny
that this was anything except false economy if
we cancel it."

a meeting in Craig would be most helpful to the
local people up there and to the Board but I am
wondering how much benefit there would be from
the tour."

"Your transportation, I would judge, is
practically the same, within $100 or so, of going
from Denver to Craig with all the people that we
would normally take and then going to Vernal.
You've got a question of one night's stay and
subsistence of a few meals. I'm sure that in
view of our tragic financial shape that maybe
