MR. STAPLETON:

MR. ROSS:

We had some discussion at the previous
meeting of the South platte steering committee
at which Mr. Sparks called this to my attention
and to the attention of the group at that time.
r think the Board ought to know there was some
indication expressed that perhaps the individual
groups effected by Two Forks would make some
contribution if that were the difference between
keeping it going and not keeping it going. So
r feel that as far as Two Forks is concerned
it's an essential part of the entire South Platte
development. To many it would be more important
perhaps than even Hardin or Narrows, or rather
the Weld County site or Narrows, but the two have
always been considered together. The report of
the Bureau of Reclamation on the site selection
assumed the construction of Two Forks and r
think, at this time, if we failed to include
in some manner at least a minimum effort on Two
Forks it would be tragic for the future develop-
ment of the South Platte Basin.

I

I realize, of course, that the funds at
the disposal of the Board are very, very limited
and r think the city of Denver may have some
comments on Two Forks.

I might say, as attorney for the Henrylynn
Irrigation District, our Board would give very
serious consideration to a contribution toward
this development in spite of the fact that they
have very little water and are facing one of
the gravest seasons that they have faced since
1954. This is speaking as counsel for Henry-
lynn and not as a member of the Board. As a
member of the Board, though, I think it is very,
very important that we have something done on
Two Forks."

"Is there any more comment from members of
the Board? How about any of our guests, would
they like to make any comments? Mr. Ross."

I

"Thank you. I, as representative of the
City of Denver today, can only concur in the
comments of Mr. Miller. We in Denver believe
that this is a keystone part of the whole
