<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1 ($350,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, to conduct a <br />2 statewide drought planning survey. <br />3 (3) The moneys appropriated in subsection (2) of this section shall <br />4 remain available for the designated purposes until the project is <br />5 completed. <br />6 SECTION 14. Floodplain mapping program - appropriation. <br />7 (1) In addition to any other appropriation, there is hereby appropriated, <br />8 out of any moneys in the Colorado water conservation board construction <br />9 fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Colorado water conservation <br />10 board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2001, the sum of two hundred <br />11 fifty thousand dollars ($250,000), or so much thereof as may be <br />12 necessary, for the board to contract with a consulting firm or firms, to <br />13 complete new or revised floodplain mapping for several counties and <br />14 communities along important stream reaches in Colorado. Due to <br />15 unprecedented statewide growth and development pressure along <br />16 floodplain areas, the floodplain information will be used in critical land <br />17 use decisions and hazard risk assessments. <br />18 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) ofthis section shall <br />19 remain available for the designated purposes until the moneys are <br />20 exhausted. <br />21 SECTION 15. Continuation of Cherry Creek reservoir flood <br />22 safety investigation. (1) In addition to any other appropriation, the <br />23 Colorado water conservation board is hereby appropriated seventy-five <br />24 thousand dollars ($75,000) from the Colorado water conservation board <br />25 construction fund to continue the Cherry Creek reservoir flood safety <br />26 investigation with local governments in Douglas and Arapahoe counties, <br />27 the U.S. weather service, the U.S. Army corps of engineers, and other <br /> <br />-13- <br /> <br />SBOI-157 <br />
