<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1 feasibility study will determine the technical, financial, and economic <br />2 feasibility of potential water management facilities and water management <br />3 options on the lower South Platte river in Colorado. Upon approval of the <br />4 feasibility study, and at the sole discretion of the Colorado water <br />5 conservation board, a consulting fIrm may also be contracted for the fInal <br />6 design of the identified preferred project alternative. The purpose of the <br />7 project is to facilitate Colorado's management of South Platte flows as <br />8 they relate to groundwater recharge, in-state benefIcial uses, South Platte <br />9 river compact administration, benefIts for Colorado biological species of <br />10 concern, and participation in an endangered species program being <br />11 developed pursuant to the Platte River cooperative agreement. <br />12 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) of this section shall <br />13 remain available for the designated purposes until the project is <br />14 completed. <br />15 SECTION 10. Arkansas valley pipeline project _ <br />16 appropriation. (I) The Colorado water conservation board is hereby <br />17.~'.:,~C'rized to participate in a reconnaissance and feasibility study for a <br />18 proposed raw water pipeline project from Pueblo reservoir to the City of <br />19 Lamar along the Arkansas river. The purposes of the investigation will be <br />20 to evaluate the costs and benefits of a water supply line to service the <br />21 agricultural water users and smaller Arkansas valley communities below <br />22 Pueblo reservoir. The scope of work for the planning studies shall be <br />23 developed by the southeastern Colorado water conservancy district in <br />24 consultation with the Colorado water conservation board and a water <br />25 works committee made up of cities, towns, and private water user entities <br />26 in the Arkansas valley. <br />27 (2) In addition to any other appropriation, there is hereby <br /> <br />-10- <br /> <br />SBOI-157 <br />
