Boal-d,

We appreciate Dan Merriam 'and'Ma"'k Uppendahl 'coming to our
meeting On November 9 to explain the minim~\m stream ,flow.' Thank
yo~\.

You will find ou~ statistic objections in the letters from Four
Mile Water Users and The Pisgah Reservoir and Ditch,~ompany.

We asked Dan and Made several times why there is a minimum
in stream flow right needed. The most prevalent answer was because
BLM requested it.

We have to wond~r what the BLM has in mind, if it is to preserve
the fish and wild life and the habitat of the creek then the
instream f~~w is certainly unnessary. The fish and wildlife have
survived Xpr not survived) all these years. An instream flow
would not help make water. You cannot control the weather - when
it's dry it's dry and when it's wet its wet. The wildlife
adj~lst.

We believe it goes further - to the fact that BLM gave us a "Gold
Belt Back Country By-Way" that is advertised nation wide and a
"Climbing Area" that 'is advertised world wide, now BLM has
a DinasQ~lr Museum in the making.:

With BLM maKing ~his request for no feasable reaso~,- it makes us
wonder just what they really have in store for this area in the
future. Do they want it for fishermen or'is it possible that down
the road .' it is meant to go O~lt of state? ~Je believe you need a
better reason for taking this water - rather than BLM requested
us to do this.

Thank you for considering our opinion.

~~~
Beneta Canterbury
/J.ih>_eZ; ~z;-~
'7
