<br />. <br /> <br />advisory team has been instrumental in selecting <br />alternative plans. <br /> <br />(1) Much development in the scenic area north of <br />Durango included in the feasibility plan would <br />not be required in the alternatives being studied. <br /> <br />(2) Alternatives being studied would have substantially <br />less salt pickup than the feasibility plan. <br /> <br />(3) The project would be of particular value to the <br />Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Indian tribes. <br /> <br />(4) Development of resources on the Southern Ute and <br />Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservations could be <br />anticipated. <br /> <br />b. On the basis of current knowledge. this project should <br />favorably meet currently applicable evaluation <br />criteria. Plan formulation studies are scheduled for <br />completion by early 1975 with the Definite Plan Report <br />and Draft Environmental Impact Statement due by <br />September 1976. <br /> <br />3. San ~liguel Project <br /> <br />a. The Definite Plan Report and Draft Environmental Impact <br />Statement are scheduled for completion by December 1977. <br /> <br />b. Although plan formulation studies are only beginning. <br />the opportunity to reformulate the project for meeting <br />federal standards appears favorable. <br /> <br />c. Local and state interests have been actively supporting <br />development for many years. <br /> <br />d. Reformulation studies on the San Miguel Project will <br />be continued during the remainder of FY-75 and early <br />FY-76. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />e. An advisory team will be organized by the San Miguel <br />Water Conservancy District in ~arly spring to provide <br />input to this planning process. The selection of a <br />project plan is anticipated by January 1976. <br /> <br />4. Dallas Creek Project <br /> <br />a. As stated, the scheduled date for completion of the <br />Definite Plan Report and the field draft of the <br />Environmental Report is January 1975 and February 1975, <br />respectively. <br /> <br />b.
