The plan would provide for lining of canals and <br />laterals, or replacement with pipe, improving land <br />drains, and replacing diversion dams, canal and <br />lateral structures. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />c. New facilities could include < a 10,000 acre-foot Coal <br />Creek Reservoir for regulation of irrigation supplies <br />and flood protection. <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />These improvements would increase the project water <br />supply, reduce project O&M costs, provide flood <br />protection, and reduce salinity contributions. <br /> <br />Feasibility investigations were initiated in FY 1974 <br />and will continue into FY 1977. <br /> <br />A multiple objective planning team was established <br />in May 1974 and studies have been progressing on <br />schedule. <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />f. <br /> <br />(1) Team members are currently gathering resource <br />data. <br /> <br />(2) Three public meetings have been held to acquaint <br />the local people with the project and its <br />purpose and to solicit input, particularly as <br />it applies to the environment. <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation, the Uncompahgre Valley Water <br />Users Association, and the Upper Gunnison River Water <br />Conservancy District are holding meetings on future <br />operation of Taylor Park Reservoir to serve fish and <br />wildlife, recreation, and upstream water purposes. <br /> <br />4. DomiMuez Reservoir Project (Uncompahgre Project <br />Extension) <br /> <br />g. <br /> <br />a. Dominguez Dam would be located on the Gunnison River <br />near Grand Junction. <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />A hydrogeneration plant would include pumpback <br />storage facilities <br /> <br />M&I water could be provided to the Grand Junction I <br />area <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />Fish and wildlife, water quality, and recreational <br />benefits would also be included. <br /> <br />b.
