location so we are planning tentatively to
locate one downstream of the dam on the west
side of the river. We are still working with
them on that.

On real estate, as I mentioned earlier,
we had a public landowners meeting last Tues-
day. Some of you may have atteni:ed that. At
the meeting we explained our policies and
procedures for obtaining land and indicated
what areas would be first priority, second
priority, and so on, in a general way. In
the next few months we hope to have each
tract scheduled according to the plans we
have now. The project manager for real
estate will be ~tr. Sid Tu~ner and temporarily
we'll set up an office at the Denver Federal
center in Building 40, Room 100. As soon as
possible, I'm sure, Mr. Turner e~ects to set
up an office down at the project site so that
he can administer the real estate acquisition
program a little bit more effectively.

Our policy on buying real estate will
be to obtain fee title to the land with no
reservations for sand and gravel. However,
all of the land above the conservation pool,
we are still studying what might be done with
respect to the sand and gravel interests and
no definite decision has been made on that.
It might be possible also, after the project
has developed to a certain stage, that it
would be beneficial to the project to mine
some sand and gravel out of the conservation
pool area but we would have that under a con-
trolled operation and we can't give any
details on how that might come about now.

A little bit about the scheduling.
Fiscal year 1967 funds included $6 million
for land acquisition and construction. Prior
to that time our activities were limited to
planning. you may know also that although
$6 million was appropriated, the Omaha Dis-
trict didn't receive all of that. I am not
