It is an important negotiation and a necessary
step to permit us to proceed with construction
of the proposed Sugar Loaf enlargement.

We are making good progress on the land
acquisition for the Ruedi Reservoir. We
advertised On April 6th for bids on the Divide
Tunnel and the South Side TUnnels for the
south portion of the collection system on the
project. There will be three tunnels included
in this contract; one for the Divide Tunnel;
one for the South Fork TUnnel; and one for the
Chapman Tunnel; and access roads up the Frying-
pan and access roads to Chapman Creek. We
receive bids in late May and this will be an
additional important step on the Fry-Ark
Project.

Work is proceeding on the Hayden-Archer
Transmission Line, the interconnection between
the Storage Project and the Western Division
of the Missouri Basin.

"I have one question. Is this land that
you have acquired at Ruedi, is that just in
the reservoir area or in part of that recrea-
tion that is under controversy?"

"The land that we have acquired is that
basic land area for Ruedi, which has been
agreed to by the Forest Service and the United
States. This is the area that has been worked
out in joint conferences with them, and with
Congessman Aspinall. It is a reduction over
the area that was originally contemplated for
total development of the Ruedi site."
