We now estimate, from the 1st of April
forecast, snow information and other data,
that we will have a runoff of 10,800,000
acre-feet into Glen Canyon this year.

I

As for Navajo, the outlet works have
been completely opened at this structure and
all possible water, in accordance with the
heighth of water in t~~ reservoir that can be
run through these outlets, is being discharged
from this structure. It is planned to leave
the outlet works completely open. Even with
bypassing all the water that is pgssible, we
feel that the contractor's works at the inlet
portal to the Navajo Indian Irrigation Project
will be inundated sometime during this spring
runoff period.

As another item, on the Fontenelle Dam in
Wyoming, we are making plans as to the desir-
ability of filling part of this reservoir
this spring. If the reservoir is not filled
the reason will be that we want to bypass
this water to assure the filling of Lake Mead
at the earliest possible time.

Because of the necessity of getting Lake
Mead up to its rated head, it is anticipated
that only small amounts of water will be stored
in Flaming Gorge this year. Once rated head
is obtained at Lake Mead, then we will resume
storage at Flaming Gorge.

If we realize the anticipated runoff of
10,800,000 acre-feet this year, We now estimate
that an additional 2,000,000 acre~feet of
water can be stored in Lake Powell.

I

We further estimate, under these condi-
tions, that Lake Mead should be restored to
rated head sometime in July. We have in this
report that Lake Mead contained 11,138,000
acre-feet. I have this additional information
on April 12th, that Lake Mead was at elevation
1,089.33 and contained 11,243,000 acre-feet of
water. As a point of interest, Lake Mead
