"'.JV~

Congressman Aspinall would also like Governor
,Johnson to see his position. The Governor
again informed me that he was not interested
in that position. I then again begged him to
postpone the adoption of the resolution for a
day or two at least. He said it was not possible
to postpone the action any further.

During the lunch hour the New Mexico repre-
sentatives had apparently prepared further
amendments to the resolution and finally the
various amendments as proposed by New Mexico
were agreed upon. A discussion then took place
as to how the resolution would be released. Mr.
Goslin, the Secretary, stated that he would have
to immediately depart for Salt Lake City and
that there in his office he would prepare a
clean copy of the resolution. I objected to this procedure
and stated that there were members of our Board
who were waiting outside and members of the
Colorado press who had a right to see the reso-
lution. I then offered to have the resolution
typed up and stated that I could have it done,
with several copies, within about thirty minutes.

At that time Commissioner Johnson also
stated that he would like to have a clean copy
of the resolution so that he could clear the
resolution with Mr. Patterson of the Public
Service Company of Colorado. Also at that time
commissioner Johnson went to the telephone and
called Mr. Patterson and arranged for a meeting
in the Argonaut Hotel next door. I went over
to the State Capitol anc secured the services
of the secretary there and the final form of the
resolution was typed up in several copies. I
then returned to the meeting room at the State
Office Building.

I

I
