<br />I <br /> <br />order that he could correct my memory or any <br />of the facts which I will hereafter set forth. <br />Governor Johnson is here for that purpose. As <br />the Chairman has stated, he generally always <br />attends our Board meetings. <br /> <br />Last Wednesday night, now that was a week <br />ago from this past Wednesday, which would have <br />been August 30th, while I was at home the <br />telephone rang at our house. I, at that time, <br />was enjoying a common vice, watching television. <br />My wife answered the telephone and came into <br />our television room and asked me if I knew Mrs. <br />Keating's address - Mrs. Lee Keating our secre- <br />tary, or her phone number. I said, 'Well, it's <br />in the phone book, have the caller look it up'. <br />She went back and started thumbing through the <br />telephone book herself. Then she called to me. <br />She said 'It sounded like Governor Johnson'. I <br />immediately went to the phone and ascertained <br />that it was Governor Johnson, our Commissioner <br />.on the Upper Colorado River Commission. He <br />advised me that he was trying to locate Mrs. <br />Keating and I then asked if I could be of any <br />assistance. He stated 'Well, Mr. Goslin, the <br />Secretary-Engineer for the Upper Colorado River <br />Commission called me and asked that I make <br />arrangements for a meeting room for a special <br />meeting of the Upper Colorado River Commission <br />on September 1st.' (The following Friday). <br />I therefore stated that I would make arrange- <br />ments for the room. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I expressed some surprise that I had re- <br />ceived no previous notice of such a meeting. <br />Governor Johnson then informed me that he under- <br />stood that some of the Commissioners wanted such <br />a meeting and that he presumed the meeting would <br />take up the subject of the transmission lines <br />for the Upper Colorado River storage Project <br />system. The following morning - that was on a <br />Thursday morning - I arranged for a room in the <br />State Office Building. All the rooms in this <br />building were taken. <br /> <br />I then immediately notified our Board mem- <br />bers by telegram of what knowledge I had <br />
