Several of us were out in the lobby when we heard the Board was in session and wait- ing. We were sitting out there waiting for the other room, on the theory you were hav- ing your pictures taken in the Governor's office and were about to come back. We didn't know you were in here. I am sorry we were late. As most of you know, the Investigation Commission has met several times in the last couple of months. In December we directed a letter to the Director of your Board and to the Attorney General relative to water mat- ters that the Commission felt was of import- ance to the State. About ten years ago the Board of Direc- tors of the National Reclamation Association thought it was necessary to have a recodifi- cation of all the Federal reclamation laws. That job has been in process of being done over a, long period of time. It is now encom- passed in several volumes of House Documents and should be reviewed with comments by the various 17 states in the west. Not the codi- fication itself, which does not give rise to the particular thing which we in Colorado should be interested in, but the revisions which arise out of this codification. What is being proposed in the way of revision to reclamation laws that might have an effect on water matters in this State, none of us know. We directed this letter, as I say, to your Director and to the Attorney General merely to call it to their attention. How- ever, in discussirgit with the Commission again yesterday and with your Director, we felt that perhaps a more specific recommenda- tion might be made to your Board.
