in the present operating principles is
also very critical and I know that you
are fully on top of that particular chore
which is a matter of state activity rather
than Bureau of Reclamation activity.

I can also tell you, Larry, that we
will have the statement prepared on costs
for you in about a week but we. have so
far expended approximately $19,500 of the
$75,000 advanced to us and, of course, all
of the money that we had that was avail-
able has been exhausted. It was exhausted
before we ever got your money as you under-
stand.

Joe, can you think of anything to add
to that?"

"We have been doing some basic work on
the economic studies as far as we can go
on them, some verification work. Everybody
on my staff that I can spare has worked on
it and I think about half of Jim's staff."

"Are there any questions now from the
Board members?"

"Mr. Chairman, I would like to ask what
are the mechanics of the appointment of the
State Board members on the review committee?"

"I am glad you brought that up. I would
like to refresh the Board's memory that Mr.
Barnard, Sr., Mr. Robert Delaney of Glenwood
Springs and Mr. Dick Williams of Grand Junc-
tion were appointed to represent the Colorado
River Water Conservation District. Mr.
Harold Christy, Mr. Charles Beise and Mr.
Frank Milenski were appointed by the South-
eastern Colorado Water Conservancy District.

The Board has been asked to select three
members to meet with this group to try to
work these problems out. Unless I have some
objections from the Board, I would like to
appoint Mr. Nelson of Grand Junction, Mr.
Sparks the Director, and myself to work with
that committee.
