"Thank you Mr. Barkley. We add our
appreciation to the volunteers and members
of the staff for their participation.

Now there are two-additional members
of the Legislature here that I noticed just
came in. Senator Finley from Center and
Senator Porter. from Cortez. We are glad
to have you here. .

The next item on the agenda is an-
other important one and that's the Frying-
pan-Arkansas Project and I would like Larry
to report on that."

"Gentlemen, we have kept you somewhat
advised by means of bulletins on what has
happened in respect to that project. I
think I stated before that it became appar-
ent that something had'to be done about
that project if it'was to ever be con-
structed. We have gone along in exactly
the same line for several years in a row
and the project legislation has never been
able to get to the floor of the House for .
vote. We have tried to get to the root of
the difficulties and come up with a somewhat
different plan.

We have spent a considerable amount of
money and a lot of effort, both on the part
of the staff of this Board and the staff of
the Bureau of Reclamation in Region 7. The
cooperation out of Region 7 has been superb.
Unfortunately we are trying to cram into a
few months something that would normally
take a period of two years at least.

The investigation of reservoir sites
is a long, hard pull. There are so many
factors that must be taken into considera-
tion. At the present time we are trying to
go along with the Ruedi Reservoir in the
Fryingpan which is a reservoir of approxi-
mately 100,000 acre feet capacity and which
