I

I

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. BARKLEY:

l;lll

under obligation of advising any Colorado
Congressman. Now the thing that disturbs
me,gentlemen, is that again it has been
worked over and a good many thousands of
dollars spent to which Colorado partici-
pated with funds and they did have a dead-
line set. Now I am not trying to throw out
any deadline. The only thing I am calling
to your attention is the sooner you could
authorize to have Mr. Fix come down and talk
to this group to clarify this picture a lit-
tle, it might help our chances with the
other 17 western states because we have had
this information for a month or six weeks
in Colorado, as much time as any other
state."

"Thank you, Mr. Christy, we will keep
that in mind.

We have a busy agenda and I would like
to move along. If there are no further com-
ments from the Board, I am going to summarize
our feeling that we do want to go ahead with
this recodification and that we will have a
report which will be worked out by Mr. Bark-
ley's committee, Mr. Sparks and the Attorney
General's office, so that we will know in de-
tail what their feelings are and what we are
involved with."

"I want to add this, Mr. Chairman. While
John Barnard, Sr.'s report includes the items
that have been worked on by the Investigation
Commission since your last meeting, I can't
help but observe, or make an observation,
which I think is pertinent. All of you, I
think, are aware of the fact that an awful
lot of spade work has been done in a pretty
short time and I want to express in behalf
of the other members of the Investigation
Commission, our appreciation for the amount
of time and effort that has been put into
the thing that we are attempting to do in
aid of your Board by your own staff, Mr.
Sparks and particularly Mr. Gildersleeve
and Mr. Kuiper. I would like also to recog-
nize Mr. Ralph Sargent of the Public Service
Company. Mr. Sargent and Mr. Keith Millen
of the Public Service have done a great deal
of spade work for us on the power contracts
and the power payout schedules in connection
