R. 1977 <br />and recommend s against the enactment the reof; and be it <br />further <br /> <br />"RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board is directed <br />to take such action as in his discretion he may deem advis- <br />able to carry this resolution into effeot." <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Upon suggestion by Mr. Dille, it was moved by Mr. Pughe and <br />seconded by Mr. Smith thet Mr. Breitenstein be sent to Washington as <br />attorney for the Board, to be present at hearings on the Rockwell Bill <br />and to assist the Director. <br /> <br />Upon vote being taken the motion was passed and declared adopted. <br /> <br />The Director reported on developments for a coordinated investi- <br />gation in the East and West slopes of the Continental Divide in re- <br />lation to the proposed Gunnison-Arkansas project. He saied ai,steilring <br />committee had been set up, oomposed of himself, Mr. Riter, Chief of the <br />Hydraulic Divisi on, and the regi onal directors of Regions 4 and 7, Bureau <br />of Rec lama ti on. <br /> <br />Next item for consideration by the Board was the Paonia project in <br />Delta County, Colorado, which must be re-authorized beceuse of increased <br />cost and change of design. The project involves amut 15,000 acre feet <br />of storage, an amount of water assuredly within Colorado's shere of Upper <br />Colorado River Basin water. <br /> <br />Mr. Dutcher moved that the Director proceed under the <br />arrangements whi ch he outlined before the Board to draft <br />a bill for project re-authorization of the Paonia project <br />and provide for use of money heretofore appropriated for <br />the project by the Congress to commence construction. <br /> <br />The motion was seconded by Mr. 13aiJey, and upon vote being <br />taken, wa s unanimously adopted, end decla red passed. <br /> <br />Mr. Warren presented information on a case involving <br />of prior rights in wyoming, on Shell Creek and Dry Creek. <br />originate in Colorado and pass over to Wyoming. <br /> <br />invasion <br />The waters <br /> <br />Following Judge Stone's suggesti on that the matter be <br />investigated, as it involved some Colorado water users, it <br />was moved by Mr. Bailey and seconded by Miss Pointer that the <br />Director be authorized to make whatever investigation he <br />deems necessary to determine the facts in an effort to get <br />this controversy settled. <br /> <br />Upon vote being taken the motion WaS unanimously passed and <br />declared adopted. <br /> <br />I <br />
