I

I

e~l

work is being deferred until further study can be given to
the foundation problems at the Rifle Gap Dam site. The Chief
Engineer is now preparing a reconnaissance estimate for the
dam to be used in reappraising the feasibility of the project
and the need, if any, for revising the dam plan.

Florida Project

Here again we are faced with foundation problems at
the Lemon Dam Site. Drilling last fall indicated that bedrock
was considerably deeper and the foundation was more pervious
than anticipated in previous studies. As soon as weather per-
mits, a new dam site slightly downstream will be mapped and
drilled. Land classification and water supply studies are
going forward.

Savery-Pot Hook Project

The necessary reV2S2onS have been made in cost esti-
mates, benefits, and repayment studies and the report is now
being processed. Upon field completion, the report will be for-
warded to our Commissioner's office for approval and circulation
for the 90-day review and comments as outlined under the Flood
Control Act.

Fruitland Mesa Project

Field surveys are essentially completed. Work is now
being done in the selection of project plan and the lands to be
served and the development of the project water supply. Comple-
tion of the feasibility report has been delayed some because of
priority given to the Savery-Pot Hook report and to restrictions
in shifting F. Y. 1958 funds. This report is scheduled for
early F. Y. 1959

Bostwick Park Project

The foundation conditions at the Silver Jack Dam site
on Cimarron Creek were determined in recently completed drilling
to be satisfactory for the proposed structure. Land classifi-
cation surveys are complete and plan formulation and water sup-
ply studies are going forward. Possibilities for supplying muni-
cipal water to the City of Montrose are also being considered.
Completion of the feasibility report is still scheduled for mid
F. Y. 1959.

Dolores Project

A contract for photogrammetric mapping of the lands
not previously mapped (about 50 percent of the project area) was
