I am wondering if we have heard from
everyone who wishes to speak.

MR. PETERSON:

Should this Board go on record to
have the Bureau reinitiate the studies on
this project?"

"So far we have heard only from those
people who are in favor of this project,
not from any opposing it, and formerly
there was opposition. Is there anyone
here from the area to be inundated?"

Mr. Con Schaefer, County Commissioner from Weldona,
Colorado, introduced himself and said he was from that area
and was not opposed to the project. Mr. R. J. Lamborn of
Fort Morgan, Colorado said he was definitely opposed to the
Narrows site but not to channel storage.

Mr. Whitten stated he was under the impression the
Corps of Engineers would not consider sites above the Narrows
site but Mr. Knights replied that the Corps of Engineers
would give benefits at any site although they were less in
favor of higher sites which was just a matter of economics.

MR. McCANDLESS:

"I think it might be better to hold
a series of meetings and try and get the
opposition to come out and then if it is
found that the majority is in favor, the
Bureau would be able to go ahead."

When asked if the Bureau was prepared at this time
to settle on a definite site, Mr. Knights said no, that all
the former sites studied would be gone over and that they
would make no statement that they would definitely come up
with the Narrows site as being the most feasible.

MR. MOSES:

"I would like to suggest that some~'
body make a motion that we request the
Bureau to make further studies to deter-
mine the possibility for development of
channel reservoir storage on the lower
South Platte River in Colorado."
