fHO

MR. CRAWFORD: "You expect to have this report ready
so it will be available a year from
now? Do we have this plan to present
to the Secretary? ;

MR. JER~ffiN: "It is pretty much of an unwritten law
that it will not be presented before we
have a complete report. We are very
interested in the Curecanti.-

I

On the Collbran the definite plan is in
Washington and must be approved before
we can let the contract. If they want any
additional information in Washington, we have
not heard. Assuming that Collbran is a
7.1 mills project, if in the interim we
com~ in with 6 mills on the Colorado
River Storage Project, sometime in the
future we may want Collbran to come
in as a participating project. The
Paonia definite plan report will be out
in 1957. People in the Minnesota Unit
have asked that it be included in the
Paonia Plan. On Smith Fork and Silt we
are going forward to completion. I
say let us not get too fast with our
conservancy districts. Let us keep
organized but hold back until we are
ready to go. This is just a word of
caution. "

MR. McCANDLESS: "How much will local opposition to Curecanti
affect delay?"

MR. JE~4AN: "So far as I know, there is no local
opposition."

MR. BLACK: "That is the information we have."

MR. PETERSON:

"This project is in my area and I have been in
contact with all the groups interested
in Curecanti and I am sure all opposition
to it has dissolved. I have a letter from
the Gunnissn people showing no opposition
up there."

I

MR. JEm~N: "On the West Divide Project we have initiated
a re-study to take into account potential
industrial demands in the Rifle area.
Fruitland Mesa is encouraging; we are completing
the land classification and we have drilled
the dam site."

MR. CRAWFORD: '~hen do you expect to have that completed?"
