"We don't know because we also have personnel
difficulties.

West Divide does not have an encouraging cost
ratio. Mr. Tipton suggested that we attack
it from another angle. That report is coming
up and the Regional Director has it on his
desk now. Because of the need of that
project, the Director thinks we shouB go
into a feasibility report and it has been
so programmed.

A reconnaissance report on DeBeque will be
given; under one plan it will be considered
as a unit of the Colorado River Storage and
under anot~ it will be a participating
project and there will be some irrigation
involved.

On the Yampa-White we will have a report
in 60 to 90 days.

I don't know why the Fruitgrowers Extension
did not get into the first package.

We will want to take another look at
Tomichi Creek: On the Colorado River
Storage Project, Glen Canyon is out ~n the
desert and how to get there has been one of
the big problems. Utah has bu~lt a
highway to the State line and I believe there
is an agreement with Arizona with reference to
completion of the.next 9 miles."

"For the past 6 weeks or so we have been writing
to Mr. Jerman about a contract in which some of
our money might be used to help out in these
studies."

"Recommendations have come through but because
of the personnel situation we do not know how
we can use the money at present. We have the
contract, but we don't want to take the money
unless we are sure there will be a benefit
from its use."

"The situation is that you have enough money
to pay for the studies but you don't have personnel?"

"Yes."

"Do you think a portion of that could be used
in stream-gaging?"

"If and when we can come up with figures instead
of assumptions."
