federal government states that the state of
Colorado will put up $100,000 over a two-year
period of time. $50,000 of that we have al-
ready furnished. The remaining $50,000 will
depend upon an appropriation by the Legislature
this coming session. The federal government
will put in something like $300,000 on this
investigation.

There are particular items, to go down
the projects rapidly. On the San Miguel we
have an engineer that has been assigned to the
Bureau office at Durango. He was originally
assigned on the Animas-La Plata Project and
will continue there until July 1st of this com-
ing year to work on the San Miguel Project.
The amount shown under the San Miguel Project
reflects his salary. The Narrows I have al-
ready covered. The Fryingpan-Arkansas-Basalt
is a conjecture on our part. It depends upon
the reconnaissance study which will be pub-
lished by the Bureau during this forthcoming
year. The Power Transmission will be, for the
most part, for consulting engineers in connec-
tion with the power transmission problem.

Let me retreat here. We have nothing
budgeted for the Fryingpan-Arkansas-Basalt as
such this year. I was looking at last year.

On the Grand Mesa we have the sum of
$15,000. Again that will depend upon the recon-
naissance surveYs that are now being undertaken
by the Bureau of Reclamation. Reports will be
released and made public on that sometime dur-
ing the coming year. In connection with the
Grand Mesa we are also considering Battlement
Mesa. It may be necessary to give some
assistance to the Battlement Mesa program. As
you will remember, on July 1st of this coming I
year we will start on two new projects - Battle-
ment Mesa and the Bluestone Projects.

The ~unnison River Basin is part of our
comprehensive state-wide survey that we started
and have now completed in the San Juan Basin.
