been in the past. Many of these projects are
setting in the Commissioner's office and not
getting out and getting to Congress. Also
there is a long lag between a reconnaissance
report and a feasibility study that I wish
could be hurried up. I feel very strongly
about this item because I can see trouble
ahead unless we can get action a lot faster
on the many projects we have to construct in
Colorado."

NR. BARNARD, JR.: "The Bureau is probably too busy building
transmission lines."

MR. PETERSON: "That's below the belt."

MR. STAPLETON:

"Thank you, Pete. Bill \'lilliams, I think,
had a comment."

MR. W.M.vHLLIAMS: "This has relation to the marking of these
reclamation projects when they are under con-
struction. I came through Sapinero in June
and there was no sign that I could see any-
where, erected by the Bureau, as to what was
going on there. That was at the beginning of
the tourist season. It seemed to me that an
informative sign or signs should have been
erected where tourists could have obtained the
information as to what was involved there.

I feel very strongly that all the inform-
ation that might be readily available for
tourists stopping on the highway would help
perhaps a little bit. (You never can tell).
It might help a little in selling these recla-
mation projects to the people from the east.
I think it is important and if there aren't
signs up there yet, I think they should be
erected as soon as possible.

In August I visited Flaming Gorge Project
in northern Utah and the folders they put out
were very helpful, very interesting and I don't
think it's too early to have something on Cure-
canti."
