LV'....

to 700 people. He's attempting to keep his
hourly rate down to approximately what it was
prior to the last raise requested by the Union
that was negotiated and I understand that he
is substantially doing this.

I

Work on Flaming Gorge is progressing about
on schedule. The average height of that dam
above bedrock is about 210 feet with the prime
contractor now about 60% complete.

Navajo is rapidly reaching the completion
stage. About 90 percent completed.

preconstruction work on Curecanti is
going along on schedule. The construction
activity on Curecanti is presently limited to
the work that is being done by the Highway
Department on the highway relocation. A rather
spectacular bit of construction. As you gen-
tlemen know, the two large bridges in that
first section are under construction as well
as some very large fills to the approach.
That is on schedule or a little ahead of
schedule.

Transmission lines on the part that is
under construction is progressing about on
schedule. The contractor is making pretty
fair progress on the Flaming Gorge-Vernal-
Rangely l38-kv line. The line from Glen
Canyon to Shiprock was just recently awarded
contract-wise, being somewhat under $5 million,
slightly under $5 million.

I

On the paonia Project, now getting into
the participating projects, the dam itself is
essentially completed. All of the fill in the
dam proper is in place. '!'he work remaining
on the dam is to put in the second stage con-
struction in the outlet tunnel which cannot
be accomplished until after the irrigation
season.

Construction work on the Smith Fork Proj-
ect is roughtly 50% completed. We have all of
the principal construction contracts awarded
