Do any of you have something you would
like to bring up before the meeting? No?
Well, we are just delighted to have you here
then.

I'd like to have Bob Jennings for Region
4 make a report please. Bob. "

"Ben, members of the Water Board, I have
here a brief progress report. I see that it
has been distributed to all people. I'll com-
ment on this v<ery briefly. It is made in
various parts. Initially is the construction
including the storage units and participating
units; then advanced planning; feasibility
investigations; reconnaissance investigations;
and small projects.

In the material handed out to you, you
will note some figures on construction progress,
yardage of concrete placed, and so forth.
Those are the figures for the end of August.
As an example, here under Glen Canyon the
amount of concrete placed as of last week was
1,632,000 cubic yards rather than 1,500,000.
You might also note that in June the contrac-
tor undertook certain activities to streamline
his work and procedures at Glen Canyon. The
purpose of this was to try to gain greater
efficiency and has resulted in some slowdown in I
his work. As an example, prior to this reor-
ganization he was pouring at the rate, on peak
days, of about 11,000 cubic yards a day. The
highest rate he has attained since this reor-
ganization was about 9,000 cubic yards. It
did result in somewhat of a rather substantial
reduction in personnel. I don't have the exact
figures but I understand somewhere around 500
