will have to be negotiated with but we see
little or no problem involved with them. The
master contract was approved by the board some-
time ago. It will have to be reconfirmed but
this seems to be but a detail. As yet we have
not heard from the State of Kansas in regard
to its comments on the report but we have indi-
cations that this will be forthcoming very soon.
So after all the delays we are somewhat optimis-
tic that \V'e will reach our goal and get the
contract signed.

On the Upper Arkansas River Basin studies.
personnel from the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project
o~fice have had several meetings with planning
staff members of the Corps of Engineers, Albu-
querque District, to discuss and coordinate
the future investigations on the Arkansas River
in colorado and Kansas. We have had meetings
with local water users and some progress is
being made toward developing plans for the
river belo\V' Pueblo Dam. A review was made of
the Corps of Engineers proposed pumping from
several irrigation diversion dams and canal
modification on the Arkansas River between
Pueblo and John Martin Reservoir.

Mr. Chairman, I believe that completes a
summary of my report. If there are any ques-
tions, I' 11 be happy to try and answer them."
