<br />I <br /> <br />The preliminary draft of the Fish and <br />Wildlife report was received for review. A <br />letter-type report has been received from the <br />Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. So we are <br />processing that work to finalization. <br /> <br />On the Fryingpan-Arkansas project, the <br />contractor for Ruedi Dam has completed almost <br />55 percent of the work in some 66 percent of <br />the contract time. zone material placements <br />were continued on the dam and spillway. Con- <br />crete placements on the outlet works continued. <br />Drilling and grouting operations were continued. <br />Drilling for an installation of rock bolts in <br />the area of the outlet portal continued. Em- <br />bankment operations were slowed considerably <br />toward the end of October due to inclement <br />weather and are presently at a virtual stand- <br />still. <br /> <br />The tunnel contractors on the Divide, South <br />Fork and Chapman Tunnels, are making good <br />progress. The Divide Tunnel, which is 5.3 miles <br />in length, is now 38 percent complete; the south <br />Fork Tunnel, which is a tunnel of a little over <br />3 miles in length, is SO percent complete; and <br />the Chapman Tunnel, a tunnel of 2-3/4 miles in <br />length, stands at 76 percent of completion. <br />Excavation of the tunnels has progressed as <br />follows: Divide, 9,147 feet;South Fork, 7,190 <br />feet; Chapman, 10,261 feet. Concrete placements <br />were made for the Chapman Diversion Dam, wing- <br />walls, sluiceways, and downstream retaining <br />walls. Construction continued on the Divide <br />access road and clearing operations have been <br />advanced to the inlet portal of the Divide <br />Tunnel. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The contractor for the Sugar Loaf Dam and <br />roads has completed 44 percent of the contract <br />with less than 30 percent of the contract time <br />elapsed. Excavation and zone placement opera- <br />tions were continued. Embankment operations <br />were slowed somewhat by inclement weather toward <br />the end of October and are now at a virtual <br />standstill. Concrete placements continued and <br />
