.J.JI'U

of course, the main embankments, over at the
right is the spillway, then towards the cen-
ter we have the inlet channel and the inlet
works up a1:>ove the dam embankment, and down
below the dam the outlet works. The initial
contract will consist of the outlet works
which are constructed through what will be
the dam embankment, together with the intake
tower upstream. You will notice on the chart
also the relocation of the Colorado and
wyoming Railroad which will be a part of the
project.

I

The next slide will indicate, in general
terms, the various construction phases. Re-
locations involve both roads and the railroad,
power and telephone lines, and several cemeter-
ies involving a total of about !,200 graves.
The other physical features include the outlet
works as a single contract; the embankment
and spillway as another separate contract;
project roads; recreational facilities; and
then buildings, grounds and utilities. Now
the construction schedule, of course, will
1:>e determined upon funding. As !1r. Saunders
indicated, the budget which is now before
Congress contains an item of $1 million for
fiscal '68. I noted in last night's Denver
post that Mr. Evans had testified in support
of that increased amount. But it is difficult
at this time to predict a firm schedule until
we see what actually comes out in the F.y.'68
Appropriations Act.

May we have the next slide please? This
slide portrays the real estate acquisition in
a rather dull green and then in a brighter
green the areas which are scheduled to be
developed for recreational use and for access. I
In accordance with normal real estate acquisi-
tion policy of the corps, we will acquire fee
title for all lands which are needed for con-
struction, operation and maintenance of the
project, including these public use recrea-
tional areas. Then we will obtain easements
for those lands which are in remote areas above
