I

notch 15 1;eet by 40 feet. The outlet works
will have a discharge capacity when the pool
is at its maximum level of approximately 5,070
cubic feet per second and the outlet works are
the portion of the project which will be con-
structed first.

I

Next I would like to show you a slide
which indicates the financial data. Again I
trust that these figures will be reasonably
consistent \'li th those which Mr. Saunders gave
you. The estimated cost is $22 million approx-
imately, with the federal share of about $15.3
million and the nonfederal about $6.7 million.
The annual proration of this estimated cost
over the life of the project is about $934,000.
It may be of interest to know the way in which
this money is e;~pected to be spent. About 17
percent of the cost will be attributable to
lands and damages; about 30 to 35 percent for
relocations; and then the actual physical
facilities of the dams, roads, buildings and
other facilities, in the vicinity of 45 to
40 percent. Annual estimated benefits for
flood control about $610,000; for irrigation,
and I too do not have a specific figure of
the value of water per acre-foot, about
$270,000; and a figure of about $130,000 for
recreation, fish and wildlife. You will notice
from a footnote on this slide, this is com-
puted on the basis of appro;cimately 93,000
general visitations and then something in the
vicinity of 25,000 fishermen days annually.
It is entirely conceivable, as !1r. Saunders
has indicated, that these figures would be
conservative and that total dollar benefits
to the area and to the state may considerably
exceed these figures. Area redevelopment
benefits that always give a lasting contribu-
tion to the economic life of the community
will be something on the order of $275,000.
So the estimated annual benefits are nearly
$1.3 million or about 1.4 times the estimated
annual charges.

May we have the next slide?
the artist's concept of the dam.

This presents
You will see,
