At the same time we con- ducted some seepage runs on those streams to pick up the low flow and try to show \'lhere there were inflows and where there were losses. On the San Luis Valley project we con- tinued some of the inventory work down there. In addition, we installed some wells at a test site in order to get some better figures on evapotranspiration from the area. Ten observa- tion wells were installed to monitor the ground- water divide between the Cloud Basin and the Rio Grande. A group of 25 persons from the Arkansas Valley attended a briefing on the analog model capabilities and limitations on March 30 and 31. The group consisted of southeastern Colo- rado Water Conservancy District Board members, newspapermen, ditch company officials, well owners, and state and federal officials. This meeting was held in phoenix and I thiru< every- body had a good time. I hope that the meeting was particularly informative to the people in the Arkansas Valley and gave them a little bit better understanding of what our work down there entails. The Piceance Basin work has resumed. They are deepening Core Hole No. 2 there. The last time we were involved in this particular hole we had a gas explosion at the bottom and we quit drilling altogether. Now they have resumed their drilling at that particular site and are going from 2,100 feet down to about 3,200 feet. They will get started this week. They had hoped to get that started the week before but they had some difficulties. All available chemical quality data on ground water in the Baca-Prowers Counties project area have been entered on punched cards.
