.,J.,J.,J:;,J ~ is finished. The work that remains to be accomplished is the work of installation of the turbines, generators, and appurtenant electrical facilities. This work is about 80 percent complete and we estimate n~l that the first generator will go on the line for commercial generation in about June or July. At t-torrow point, the second dam of the Curecanti unit, construction activities were again started, as far as concrete placement in the dam proper, on March 27. We anticipate that this dam will be topped out this summer - probably in about August. The contractor has completed placing the concrete in the under- ground powerplant; he has completed the con- crete work on both penstocks and in both draft tube tunnels; and is placing concrete in the stilling. basin and the weir below the dam. Overall completion of this dam is now about 80 percent. On t4ay 23 the Bureau of Reclamation will open bids for the removal of water from the outlet works stilling basin at Navajo Dam. This is going to be necessary for contractors to view work necessary to submit bids for modification of the outlet works. This modi- fication work should t~,e place probably about August of this year. - On our participating projects, the silt project is substantially finished. The work remaining consists of surfacing the relocated state highway. The project is operating this year and delivering some water. In spite of the late closure of the dam last fall and a rather poor water year, we have the reservoir about one-third full. Two or three other small items in here. On the Smith Fork project, we had a small modi- fication to m~,e on the diversion dam. That work has been completed and the dam is in operation. Also the repair work on the Gunni- son Tunnel was finished on March 22nd and that tunnel placed back in operation. On our other
