205

lrr. Marmaduke: IAr. Breitenstein told you the situation. I
am told at present the legislation is out of committee and that it
will be acted on Tuesday or Wednesday. I do not 1..,10W why they want
the bill but they feel that Nebraska should pass such a law.

1

IAr. Breitenstein: I discussed this with the Department of
Justice, ,Judge Williams said he would prepare a modification decree,
which has been done and I have sent copies to Mr. Crawford and the
Attorney General. I think no action is required the way -it is now.
If it doe.s not occur by June lst, I don 't know what we would do.
We will just have to take a chance. We can just sign your name,
Mr. Bailey, and save us time.

Mr. Bailey: You can do that.

Mr. Breitenstein: Mr. Marmaduke, in the event this is not
done by June lst, the Attorney General will have to be notified, if
that is done then it means Colorado is again engaged in the U. S.
Supreme Court in litigation. None of us want that.

15. Policy and Review Committee 1~eting.

Mr. Bailey: In relation to the Curecanti matter, we' should
have a meeting of the Policy and Review COTIuuittee. What dates would
be agreeable? How about May 25th? lJay 25th was agreed on for the
meeting; time: 10:OO A.M., Room 228, Capitol Building.

16. Narrows Dam.

Mr. Cravlford: Report on Na.rrows Dam.. I have informed in-
quiring parties the matter is in a state of quiescence. Sterling
Chamber of Commerce wants the matter to be opened again. Three
meetings were held before Judge Stone's death, are we ready to
start a.fresh?

lrr. Beaty: We were going to take a trip down there. Has the
situat~on changed any or do they still feel the same?

Mr. Dille: Judge Stone scheduled some meetings dovm there.
My feeling is there is not much purpose in attempting to do anything
during this economy drive.

1

Mr. Crawford: About the only thing I can say then is the
matter is held in abeyance by the Board?

Mr. Dille: I think so.

17. Alternates for Conference Committee.

Mr. Bailey; I mentioned alternates on the Conference Committee.
At present there are no alternates named.
