204

Mr. Crawford: At the Jast meeting we voted to go along, but
the minutes do not show anyone was appointed from this organization
to be the director..

Mr. Bailey: I thought it ,would be advisable to keep in touch
with what they are doing but not t~ke an active part.

Mr. Tipton: When the projects of the Missouri Basin were in
conflict in 194h this group was organized. The purpose was to sup-
port that legislation. At the last meeting the directors thought we
should have a national water policy. That faded out after Judge
Stone passed avmy. After his death we were looking over.what he
did and we'felt it was an impossible list of engagements for one
person. The Board should keep in touch with them but if you make
the Director the.representative it vall take much of his time.

I

Mr. Bailey:
should st~aighten

Mr. Beaty: Mr. Christy, do you suppose there wiU.be llI8,ny
meetings of this committee held?

Since there is confusion on this subject, ~e
it out now.

Mr. ~hristy: I have forgotten when the policy committee is
meeting. Supposed to have a meeting this fall to develop overall
water policy. I don't think there will be many meetings.' I feel
we should not load our Director down.with all ~hese meetings but
someone should tell them whether we are going to belong.

Mr. Beaty: Mr. Christy would you be willing to serve out
this' year?

Ur. Christy: No, I don't feel the representative should neces-
sarily be the Director. Vlliy can't it be some other board.member?

Mr. Dutcher: I move the Vice-Chairman and Director be author-
ized to appoint someone to unofficially observe at the meetings if
and when occasion so arises. Motion was seconded and carried.

14. North Platte.

Mr. Bailey: Mr. Breitenstein, ~~ll you tell the Board about
the situation on 'North Platte?

Mr. Breitenstein: I nade a report at the last meeting. I rnade
a stipulation for modification of the North Platte agreement. This
has been approved by all parties except Nebraska. They feel legis-
lative approval is required before they can act. I am told they
have obtained approval on Glendo. This will be sent out before
long. Provisions grant certain concessions to Colorado. Everything
indicates that modification of decree will be filed before June lst.
I would like to have Mr. Marmaduke tell us about it.

1
